GES Type MSC Metal Enclosed Capacitor Request for Quotation

Please complete Steps 1 through 8. After you press "Continue" below, you will have a chance to:

bulletreview the information
bulletcreate a detailed specification for the equipment chosen
bulletrequest a quotation from Gilbert Electrical Systems (GES).

No information will be sent to GES until you are satisfied that the information and specification is correct. In order to receive a quotation from us, you will be asked to supply some information about where we can reply to your request. Any information that you supply will be kept confidential with us and will not be shared with anyone else.

Step 1...Capacitor Bank Voltage Rating...

Select the Capacitor Bank Line-to-Line voltage rating...

Step 2...Three Phase Bank Kvar Rating...

Select the Total Bank Kvar (total of all steps)...

Step 3...Number of Switching Steps...

Select the number of switching steps...
Note: For single step capacitor banks, click here.

Step 4...Amount of Kvar per step...

Verify the amount of three phase kvar for each step...
Note: This value is automatically calculated when Steps 2 and 3 are completed.

Step 5...Bank Connection...

Specify the bank connection...

Step 6...Incoming Section...

Select the incoming arrangement...

Select an incoming option...

Select the incoming entry...

Step 7...Switch Options...
Select the type of switch to be used to control each step...

Step 8...Optional Equipment...

Select as Required...

Key interlock scheme

Penta-head bolt doors

Unbalance Detection...

Unbalance scheme for each step: Placing a detection scheme on each individual step will trip the affected step only and allow the remaining steps to function without hindrance. The affected step will be locked out until maintenance is performed and the step is reset.

A main unbalance detection scheme: This method monitors the main capacitor bus feeding all the steps. All steps will drop and lock out if any step has an unbalance. The relay will have to be set for the smallest capacitor in a step.

No Unbalance Detection

Grounding Switch...

Ground switch for each step: Placing a ground switch on each individual step will allow the affected step to be grounded, capacitors to discharge and be separated from the rest of the capacitor assembly. This will allow the remaining steps to function without hindrance.

A main ground switch scheme: This method requires more circuitry and less ground switches. All steps will have the capacitor step switch opened. The main disconnect switch will have to be opened separating the bank from the incoming line. Then the capacitor switches will have to be reclosed to allow the all capacitors to discharge.

No Grounding Switch
